WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1.She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2.Mostly to clean the house.
3.To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1.He used dirt, just like the rest of us.
2.Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3.God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1.God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2.They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other Mom?
1.We're related.
2.God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's mom like me.
What kind of little girl was your Mom?
1.My Mom has always been my Mom and none of the other stuff.

3.They say she used to be nice.
What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him?
1.His last name.

Why did your Mom marry your dad?
1.My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats alot.
2.She got too old to do anything else with him.
3.My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.
Who's the boss at your house?
1.Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2.Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3.I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.
What's the difference between moms and dads?
1.Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2.Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3.Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4.Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1.Mothers don't do spare time.
2.To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.
What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1.On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2.Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1.She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2.I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3.I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Work Work Work

myfoot

I'm finally sitting now. Ugh been cleaning since I got up at 10am. Yes I slept til 10am. How? Simple we were all wiped so the kids didn't get up til after 9. I think Keith was the first up and I seem to remember him saying Rise and Shine everybody its morning time.

If you child gets fifths disease, you won't know it til they get the rash, don't put any anti itch creams, calomine lotion,or oatmeal bath stuff on them. Just let them ride it out. UGH I tried to help thinking I was doing the right thing for Keith and it just made it worse, so I stopped all the anti itch stuff cause he was going crazy itching so tried lotion regular lotion moisturizing and it helped some but. Last night we tried to go to a drive in movie, saw maybe 30 minutes of it then had to leave cause Keith was having such a rough time. So we get home after midnight and put him in the tub of clean clear water, tepid, washed him down with regular soap and he got out we put pure aloe on him and he was able to sleep through the night finally. He has put a little aloe on today but not every five minutes like he had been doing the other stuff so the rash is reddening again which means it has moisture in it and not so itchy.

Kaylie didn't have her tooth pulled yesterday but did get them cleaned. Turns out the dentist wants to pull all four molars, because they have some decay. So she will do it at four different visits about 2 to 3 months between each one. She said when Kaylie gets her wisdom teeth to come in then she won't have to worry about them needing to come out cause they will fall into the molars places. She gave Kaylie an antibiotic to take to combat any risk of infection after they pull the tooth this Tuesday. So we will once again be taking her out of school. Not that it matters they aren't really doing anything at this point. Only have like 7 days of school left.

Back to why I slept in. Wednesday night Keith woke a couple times itchy. Thursday night I was up every half hour. Friday we got up early for the dentist appointment, afterwards came home and I maybe took a 45 nap then we got around to going to the drive in theater. Home again at midnight, gave Keith a bath so didn't get to bed til almost 2am. Yes we were wiped out.

Keith had a game today, won 8-7. I mowed the yard after we got home. Was only going to do inside the fence, but ended up doing the entire yard. Cleaned all morning got the kids rooms done and the rest of the house done. Kaylie's summer clothes out.

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
Brought to you by my friend Kailani.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. She thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, she'll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing heavy or too thought-provoking.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at her site. (click on her name or the aloha tag to get there) Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Today’s question is:
Are you afraid of the dentist?

YES!!!

Itchy Scratchy

menk

Me and Itchy Scratchy who kept me awake most of the night last night. I have come to the conclusion that oatmeal baths do not work on a fifths disease rash. Benedryl, calomine lotion, and anti itch cream don't either. Its a rash that needs moisture to go away without painful itchy. So after deciding early this morning that no more of the above would be given or used I dosed him with tylenol for the pain and put cocoabutter lotion on him and it seems to be working. He just got too dry and it was driving him crazy with the itch. I have never had to deal with this before but now I know so if Kaylie gets it then I know what NOT to do. Weird thing is you don't know they have fifths disease until they get the rash then they are no longer contagious. They are contagious 3 to 4 days before the rash comes. Go figure!

Babababababababababababababa

May152008

Me pulling my hair out and having a stroke at the same time. babababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababab

Okay let me explain, OR, try to..........

Bruce is thinking of homeschool now. OMG we went to the conference with Keith's teacher. Now the other day when she called she said she had some concerns and wanted to set up a game plan for him for next year and the more I thought about her words the more I thought why does she care about next year. Then it hit me, so I kind of knew what was going to happen at this conference but tried to push it out of my mind. Sure enough we sit down and she goes over his academic standings and yes he's doing so good in that area but he's immature She thinks he needs to be in the readiness class next year and She didn't even get it all out of her mouth before bruce told her no they were not holding him back. She said its not holding back its a readiness program. I said so he would be taking first grade twice. She said well it would add another year yes but its not a first grade class next year. She said they teach kindergarden the first half of the year and first the second half. I'm like so he's gonna be bored the first half of next year cause he knows that stuff and then his first year of actual first grade he gets to be bored again cause he learned it in readiness. She said they don't teach the same stuff. I said yes they do they just teach it a different way. She didn't have an answer for that one. So Both bruce and I were like no he's movin on. Bruce said to her face we will pull them out of school and do homeschool if it comes down to it. She said she has to put down her reccommendation on his file and that we refused the readiness class. Bruce called the principle and talked to her about 2 hours later and said he didn't want that in Keith's file cause what if the first grade teacher sees it and decides oh no he's gonna be a handful and labels him a trouble maker from the get go. I told him I've been researching this for two years now. I think I started when Kaylie was having so much trouble with her second grade teacher. He said he's considering it cause of the crap Kaylie is going through having trouble learning and them just not giving them the time to absorb things. Cause basically the state of indiana only allows so many days or a week to learn something. Like say a story out of the literature book, they say a week., well the teachers themselves say they can't get it all in in just one week so they got together and somehow gotten two weeks. I told Bruce I said I know I have to write a letter to the principle saying we are going to homeschool and are pulling them out. I know we have to teach them 180 days of the year in indiana. I know I have to keep attendance records so that the superintendant can come to the door at any given time and request to see them. I know I don't have to keep grades but will do it anyway in case they do want to return to school when they are older. My cousins boy did so he could go through the graduation ceremony with his friends. So we are thinking on it and Bruce is even thinking on it. He's concerned about the sports though but I told him we have the city activities to do and I don't know if they require a child to be in the school system or not. I know the upward program didn't cause there were several homeschooled kids in it. We will just have to wait and see what happens. I just don't understand something, she has gone all year with out sending a note home about keith's behavior and now in just this last month of school she's having all these problems with him. I'm not making excuses for him but he won't sit still this week cause he has a rash, it itches and its on his back legs and yes his butt. Its like okay are you basing your decision on this last month of school cause you haven't said a word all year. Yeah I'm sure he's getting antsy I'm sure they all are. I observed that when I was there that day to watch him swim afterwards they had snack time and he didn't act any different than the other kids. It might have been because I was there but still. Then today Keith comes home with two things in his backpack, an achievement award for doing outstanding work in kindergarten and his student evaluation chart at 92%. And they wanna hold him back. Bruce and I just looked at each other and said at the same time its about the money. They want the extra funding for holding a child back.

Swiffer Duster and Febreze Fabric Spray

I'm testing products. I was sent a sample Swiffer Duster and a bottle of Febreze Allergen Reducer Fabric Freshner. I first tried the swiffer duster. I must say this little thing really does trap that dust. You fluff it first before putting it on the handle. Little side note here my dog loves this process. Disappointed when she figures out its not for her but she loves to watch it. Now to think of a place I have forgotten to dust. Oh yes the kitchen light of all places. The light above my kitchen table had a nice coating of dust so this was the perfect place to test this product that claims to trap and lock more dust and allergens. Now if I had used a dust rag the dust would have fallen on my table. With the swiffer it trapped it all. Not one speck of dust on my table. I was impressed, heck I'm still impressed!!! Will I buy another if I wear this one out, you betcha, and everyone knows I hate to dust, maybe now I will do it more. lol

On to the spray and I have to admit I have never liked the smell of Febreze. I have used it before and had found the All fabric freshner to smell so much better. That was until I got this bottle and started spraying. The Allergen Reducer spray smells so good. I have sprayed everything -curtains, carpets, and furniture. It smells like I have thrown everything in the washing machine and washed it. I will definately switch to this brand as long as they don't mess with the scent. I thought maybe the scent had a name but I'm looking at the bottle and can't find any specific scent marked on it. All it says is lightly scented. I love it and am currently sitting on my couch with my feet up inhaling the scent.

Tuesday Tidbits

me

I got some much needed cleaning done today and the bed sheets cleaned and hung out on the line for that fresh air scent. Didn't go anywhere until I had to pick up the kids from school. After all that running yesterday it was great to just stay home and well I guess I didn't relax. I cleaned right after the kids left just to get it done and out of the way for the day. Did the bed sheets. Opened up the windows and then couldn't make up my mind if it was too chilly or just right. Restored the desktop computer since Kaylie was trying to play on it last night and it wasn't working right. I don't even mess with trying to figure out what's wrong with it. Easier to restore that piece of junk and start over.

My dear sweet hubs returned from vacation April 28th remember that. He went to Talladega right. Had fun. Yeah for him right. His suitcase is still sitting in the game room. He hasn't unpacked yet. I'm not gonna do it. Which makes me think of that Everybody loves Raymond episode where Debra refuses to take the suitcase upstairs and it sits right there in that one spot for weeks on end. I forget which one did it but a piece of stinky cheese got put in it too. lol I'm not gonna resort to stinky cheese but I am wondering when this man will put his stuff away. lol

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!

I should have pictures later. I will be taking pictures of the things I got for my mom and Bruce's mom and the things my kids made for me.

I told my kids all I really wanted was for them to let me sleep in. That being said they decided to spend the night with their grandparents last night. Yeah I get to sleep in was my first thought. So why did my eyes pop open at 547am this morning? I was telling Jody last night that I would no doubt wake up early cause its too quiet. lol See Jody, do I know myself or what?!
